The Challenge
Cox Insurance Agency, running since 2015, hadn't actively built its agent base in the last year or two. When the owner decided to rebuild, he tried doing it himself through various sources — and ran headlong into how time-consuming it is. Between advertising, calling through candidates (many of whom weren't even looking for a sales position), and the rest of running the agency, recruiting was eating hours he didn't have. He found HyperHired through a private Facebook group and decided that if the promises held up, it would replace a tremendous amount of effort.
The Approach
HyperHired took over advertising, sourcing, and the prequalifying calls, sending the owner candidates who already understood it was a commission-based role at whatever standard he'd set — so he was only spending time on people genuinely interested. As he noted, that's more than time savings: it's a quality difference. Instead of ten interviews a day where he knew he'd only hire one or two, he was meeting people he was actually excited to work with. He also weighed the alternative — hiring an internal recruiter — and concluded it would have cost more and likely delivered lower performance than a full team handling it.
The Results
The agency went from a build that had been paused for a year or two to at least 12 agents moving through the licensing process, with more in a pending status and one already licensed and starting training. For the owner, the appeal was duplication: a systematized recruiting engine he could plug a ready agent into, rather than a process that depended on his personal recruiting skill — exactly what scaling an agency requires.
"It went from zero to at least 12 going through the licensing process, with a bunch more pending." — Johnny Cox, Cox Insurance Agency
