The Challenge
Blue Honor Line sells a first-of-its-kind, fully anonymized incident-reporting system for law enforcement agencies, first responders, and prisons. The product is genuinely niche, and so was the hiring profile: the company needed reps who could speak credibly to police departments, were comfortable in a law-enforcement-adjacent environment, could grasp the technology well enough to explain it, and were willing to work commission-only. Because only a small number of companies sell software into law enforcement, candidates with that exact background barely exist on the open market — and the company's CEO, Jim McCaffrey, was openly skeptical that anyone could hire virtually for a role this specialized.
The Approach
HyperHired started by building the job description and the screening for it, then worked through hundreds of resumes to surface the candidates worth the company's time. Rather than screening purely on the rare law-enforcement-software background, the team prioritized reps who were sharp enough to grasp the concept and aggressive enough to make the calls — flagging strong generalist closers alongside the ideal-profile candidates. The engagement spanned multiple markets, beginning in Illinois and expanding into Los Angeles, New York, and Florida, with HyperHired recruiting into each.
The Results
From first interviews in early January to mid-March, Blue Honor Line made 24 hires across four markets — well past its initial target of three reps per market, with the team deliberately overloaded to keep a deep bench and plenty of leads to distribute. The quality held up at that volume: the company was extending offers to roughly two out of every three candidates HyperHired sent, and about 75% of those candidates fit the target profile, with the recruiting team's judgment on the borderline "sharp enough to learn it" candidates paying off.
With the team in market and working leads, the company set its sights on scaling into ten to a dozen more markets over the year — planning to use HyperHired to hire in every new market it entered. Even the initially skeptical CEO came around once he saw the caliber of candidates the process produced.
"From creating the job description, to tailoring it, to whittling hundreds of resumes down to the few worth talking to — give HyperHired a try. There's nothing to lose and only stuff to gain." — Eric, Blue Honor Line
